iphone

boyfriend and i have been contemplating on getting a new phone or not...  he is running off a a first generation iphone and me, well lets just say my phone is not too smart.  i cannot complain about this phone because it works, gets the job done, and i can drop it as many times as i want and not worry that it broke.  it's durable!!!

i honestly do not want to upgrade to the smartphone in fear of having the internet at such an easy access and simply of always being connected.  it goes into my fear of technology going wrong.  why do i need a smartphone when i have boyfriends phone, and i am still staying connected to everyone else with my simple phone.  i don't need to be connected.

so yesterday boyfriend and i were waiting to meet some friends and went into the verizon store where they had the iphone 4s.
oh siri,  how fun you are with my fob american accient
we had a lot of fun playing with her!  i think we could have spent the whole time that we were waiting in corner of the store playing with the iphone and seeing how bad my accent is.  i need to practice announciating my words when i speak.

overall thoughts i liked this phone it was fun to play with.  i told boyfriend maybe one of us gets the iphone 4s and the other will get a windows phone... but i can see it not being too long before windows comes out with a phone that we can talk to like siri?  i can see boyfriend and i sitting in the airport waiting for our flight while playing with siri for hours...yes we are that couple.   but i am still not sure if i want to go with an iphone.  simply we are pc's not a mac.

sluggers

the garden update:
the garden is growing at a steady paste, considering the battle it is constantly fighting!  slugs and white maggot looking things mowing them.  the heriloom lettuce and carrots are growing rapid.  however, the plants with anything purple veggies are not doing too well.  they look like something came through and picked it to pieces.

so boyfriend and i went to the local (and i mean local, its about a 10 minute walk) nursery and got some snail/ slug filler.  it's suppose to be organic and safe around pets.  what it does to the snail/ slugs is it makes them feel full.  yes call me a bug killer, but the plants are starting to look good!

here are  a few images of them before snail bait.

purple broccoli, you can't see center leaves because they are gone!

heirloom letuce and the purple cauliflower which you can't see because they've been mowed.

purple cauliflower looks the same as when first planted.

yes to carrots!

a long post.
here the back story of started the hunt:  one day while at the other home, i noticed how my neighbor has really aged skin. it's gross!  it looks like a rotisserie chicken that's been in the roaster.  this has prompted me to be proactive about my skin care preventatives.  i mean you can't start too early right?  cindy crawford started early and look at her skin with that cantaloupe cream!  she sold me, well maybe not quiet yet because i still haven't purchased her cream regime yet.  with that i've been lathering on the spf and eye cream twice a day.

i use to use an aveeno eye cream, but it got discontinued when they came out with their mushroom anti-aging line.  thus forcing me to try olay total effects, that ran out. it was okay stuff. time to look for a new one that can swoon.

the kiehl's avocado eye cream was 40$ at nordstroms.  it has this consistency so it won't run into your eyes.  i thought awesome since i do find myself having that problem with eye creams and face lotions.  great idea though it stays literally on the surface of the skin.  not really sinking into the skin to moisturizing and making the skin feel sticky.  the lady who sold it to me said the following 'oprah uses it' (i must have had sucker written all over me).  the following were the convincing factors of giving it a trial: it was a 'natural' eye cream (should have just gone to origins) and oprah uses it.  anyways here's your image of it, i say don't get it not worth it.

kiehl's avocado cream not worth the 40$
the roc retinol for sensitive eyes, was 20$ at target.  what sold me was simply all that retinol stuff its suppose to have in it.  i've heard that retinol is suppose to work well with those fine lines and crows feet.  actual results i am not sure if i've noticed any.  its an odd cream that doesn't really rub into the skin, but kind of just rub's itself right off of your skin.  doesn't moisturize so you will need to use something else with it that moisturizes.  i am holding onto it for the retinol...

i am 50/50 on this one
boots botanics moisturizing eye cream for 14$ at target.  eh, you do get a good sized container, but the cream is really watery.  resulting it doesn't really rub into the skin and more like slips off the surface of your skin.  after getting some of it rubbed into the skin (at least i think i did) the skin was still dry.  for 14$ what do you expect?  it does have nice packaging, since i like packaging.  i took it back and told the clerk yes there's something wrong with it, it doesn't really moisturize like it says it will do.  and that was that.

yes to blueberries!!!
the winner of the search is 'yes to blueberries' 20$ at target.  tried the 'say yes to carrots body butter' and it's awesome on the hands.  tried the 'yes to cucumbers face wipes' never used face wipes before, but these are pretty nice.  as for the eye treatment of blueberries, it has this smell to it that i like, it rubs in nicely, feels so soft after it rubs in, and my eyes look awesome (at least i think so :D ).  so that's the end of the hunt, now that i found you please do not discontinue making it!!!

so overall total spent in a hunt for eye cream 80$.  that's a lot of money.  was it worth it, i suppose yes because i've found yes to carrots now!

sprained

boyfriend happens to have the longest legs compared to me.  he also takes the longest strides.  i always tell him 'hey, my legs aren't that long! slow down please speed racer, were are you rushing to?'
tonight we were walking down stairs together holding hands and before i knew it he was ahead of me.  i thought it was fairly obvious when his arm and hand were being pulled backwards and my arm and hand  forward.  but i guess it wasn't.  stupid me as always, trying to keep up with him decides to skip a couple of steps to catch up, but not realizing till it's too late that was a bad idea because there are more steps then i had thought and the likely of landing on a riser was slim pickings to non.
it was like a slow motion fall of 'nooooooooo'!!!!  after landing on the steps and tumbling down the last four, there had to be a quick get up before anyone came, even though my ankle hurt like a holy cow had fell on it and resulting in me dropping the f-bomb in church, i started walking away and off like it was nothing.  but boyfriend standing there shocked drawing more attention then ever.  and me walking away irritated at a combination of my stupidity of thinking little me could keep up with someone who is 6' and at the fact that he was rushing down the stairs and didn't notice his arm and hand being pulled back because my arm and hand was being pulled forward.
resulting to a sprained ankle and as soon as we got into the car i started crying.  why cry?  i felt so bad that with the fall i let my patience go.  i had disappointed myself and boyfriend in letting the patience go and so frustrated that this wasn't the first time something like this has happened due to trying to keep up with him.  i've asked for him before to please try to be cautious that i can't do things like he can.

jogging this week looks like a non existence.  current mood pissed.  at what? myself.  i know though in a couple of hours i will laugh be laughing at it.

swelling has gone down some (this is midweek) and please do ignore my mess and yucky feet.

felt so scared for the hostage, but maybe this is what i need to do.

thank you Miranda July

uber pansy!

fall is here!!! i know everyone's been blogging and posting about their first fall weekend...well you saw mine and it revolved around activities that had nothing fall like to them.  honestly this is just the beginning of the cold weather and well i am already freezing...this winter's gonna be a rough one.  body please adjust! please! or is it simply time to bring out the trusty heat pad.
trusty heat pad will always have a vip spot next to the cozy bed,  without you the bed wont be as cozy.
things i forgot to do to get ready for the rain: tear down all the moving boxes and make sure they are placed in a safe location for the next move (hopefully a year from now) and whatever is left out on the patio...rain please don't ruin anything, but i guess you can since you will put me to sleep as i listen to you tattering on the patio overhang.

ou! niceee!!!:
getting a message from boyfriend saying dinner will be ready when you get here just let me know when you are on your way.  i love it when he cooks, everything always comes out delicious.
snuggling on the sofa to keep warm.
my cozy bed
errands at dusk.  i don't know what it is about running errands or around town at dusk, but it's always one of my favorite times especially with boyfriend.
listening to the rain.
not having to water the garden because well the rain helped you.
boyfriend and you talking about all the things to do in fall and winter.
boyfriend talking about clothes and stylin with you.  OMG i told him i will talk video games with him next time ; D
everything pumpkin.  in particular nichelle's pumpkin everything.

ah...um okay???.
when a 'leader' is having a hard time giving directions, so you help out. (don't mind me).
sending an email to your colleagues on what was discussed, but it went more like this 'we disgusted..' . (obviously frustrated).
when you just realized you offended someone with sparkle fingers and that person already is offended by you.
walkingby a meeting room with everyone staring at you...DUDE! I am suppose to be in that meeting!
telling someone they are christmas then remembering they are jw's. oops!
telling the service tech at the dealership it's okay if they can't take care of the maintenance because it's almost closing and not letting the tech go check to see if they can do it because you can't shut your mouth and stop saying 'it's okay if you cant take care of it.' (thanks tech man for excellent service, sorry it rained last night)
nothing wants to fit you with this new cold weather causing body shrinkage.

happenings

sunday was oddly quiet.  thank goodness for the little brother was playing his wonderful video games SUPER LOUD at 230 in the morning!  woke me up and couldn't fall back asleep till 5 am! slept half the day away and didn't clear out the patio for the rain coming tomorrow.  eh oh well, watcha gonna do? have a cow.

so i go have lunch at my mom's and come back to the super jeniuses trying to make their halloween costume of some sort of animate.

then i find the freshly planted garden is dying due to the heat!!!! WATER!!!! so i spend a good deal of time trying to revive them.  fingers crossed.

boyfriend comes over for date day/night.  we haven't had one in a loooonnggg time!!!  yeah that will tell you how busy we've been.  it was pretty nice. the weather was weird, it was one of those oddly warmer days. on the way to the movie he decided to stop at in-n-out.
me: what!? yuck!!! in-n-out sucks for vegetarian food!!!
boyfriend: ah babers it's not that bad.
me: fine, ill give it a second try! but those 'grilled cheese' are a huge disappointment! grilled cheese my butt!  it's not even ouussinng cheese and it's all bread! but fine i can give it a second chance.
boyfriend: the key my love is 'animal style'
me: yuck to all the ma-naise, but okay second chance.

and the conclusion, nothing but awesomeness!

watched 50/50 and it was funny sad and made me tear up and think about things.  if a movie can bring out that man emotions and be only 90 minutes that's awesome!!!!  by the way i love seattle (always have always will).

on the way back we also hit out big 10!

now wish us luck for a lovely monday because it's sunday night!!!

victory garden

with the first of the rain coming next week, we had to get the garden in.  fall is definitely in the air!  the leaves are starting to slightly change colors and drop.  the weather has gotten cooler, except for some random warmer days.   but apparently it's still warm enough out to wear a tank!

we started the day with a trial of a new restaurant that specialized in vegetarian food.  can i say that there's about 1 more week left of no meat eating.
boyfriend:  what do you want for the first meat meal?
me: hm, well love, as much as i can't wait to eat meat again.  i am going to miss it'.
boyfriend: so does that mean you are going to continue on with this?
me: NO WAY
so till next time 14 of january.
we counted 8 range rovers (4 of which were BRAND NEW) on the way to the new eatery and through the meal, in yuppie town.  saw a yuppie mom try to take an ugly old luis vitton bag (i mean even if it were brand new who would buy such an ugly bag) and turn it into a diaper bag for her boy (poor baby boy and baby daddy who had to carry the bag).  then off to some browsing of the boutiques.

while eating brunch i suggested to boyfriend that we stay in and nap the day away.  his response 'love, its such a lovely day.  do you want to stay inside?' me 'i guess not.'  so off to work we went and went and went...

starting to dig random holes.

hour later we have this along with tired of slaving all the dirt off the grass.

just told boyfriend so exhausted i'mma puke.

no energy to throw up so lets get it done planting lonely onion.

can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

done (heirloom lettuces)

and done. (purple broccoli)
this mini compacted garden was a lot of labor because well we didn't go out and buy nice dirt.  instead we bought two bags of soil additive to make things soft and fluffy.  the road-a-till was in the very back of the yard, but being that both boyfriend (didn't realize there wear gears with it and thought MAD MACHINE!) and i (when little remembering watching my dad till the ground it required 2 men to man it when we only had 1) didn't know how to operate it we went with manual labor (thank you my love!).

hopefully in 60 days we will be enjoying fresh veggies.  proud of the garden, just realizing not cut out to be a farmer.  that's really sad news to me.  there goes the dream of having an apple orchard or pumpkin patch with bountiful plum trees and chickens, but i will still enjoy the pumpkin patches and apple hill!
